Police Identify 40-Year-Old Man Killed in Kansas City Shooting

Wyandotte County police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting as 40-year-old James Adam Jackson.

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a shooting at a home on the 1600 block of S. Valley Street in the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, Kansas.

When they arrived, they found Jackson inside the house with gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the scene.

The KCKPD Major Case Unit is investigating the incident. This is the first homicide of 2025 in Kansas City, Kansas. In 2024, there were 22 homicides in the city.
