American independent studio MOB Games created and published Poppy Playtime, a survival horror video game. The player assumes the character of an ex-worker of Playtime Co. who, 10 years after the disappearance of his or her coworkers, returns to the company’s deserted toy factory. The player moves around in a first-person perspective, dodging various opponents as they come and solving puzzles by using a device called the GrabPack.
On October 12, 2021, the first chapter was made available on Steam for Microsoft Windows, and on March 11, 2022, the same chapter was made available for Android and iOS. On May 5 for Windows, and on August 15 for iOS and Android, the second chapter became available.
After the first chapter, the rest will be made available as digital downloads. On its first release, critics praised the game’s gameplay, however, the second part was met with mixed reviews due to its numerous flaws. The MOB Games team, who created the game, also came under fire for the decision to make some in-game tokens non-transferable.

Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Gameplay
Poppy Playtime is a first-person survival horror game in which the player assumes the role of a former employee of Playtime Co. who, after receiving a letter from the company’s long-missing employees, goes to the toy factory where she once worked. Once the player realizes that the toys in the factory are actually alive and out to get them, they begin searching for a way out of the building. All across the plant, on various VHS cassettes, you may find a more in-depth account of what happened.
In order to move forward in the game, the player must solve a variety of puzzles. Some of these puzzles involve the use of a device called the GrabPack, a backpack with two extendable hands that can be used to pull and reach objects from a great distance, conduct electricity, and open certain doors; in Chapter 2, the GrabPack can also be used to swing across gaps and, with a green hand obtained during gameplay, transfer electricity between sources.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Plot
The player receives a package containing a note from the missing employees begging that they “discover the flower,” as well as a VHS tape featuring a commercial for the doll line in question, Poppy Playtime, and factory tours before cutting to spliced-in footage of poppy graffiti. Once inside the abandoned toy factory, they crack a security code to gain access to the GrabPack, which they utilize to gain entry to the lobby.
As soon as the player walks into the lobby, they are greeted by Huggy Wuggy, who is proudly displayed in the middle of the room. The power went out as they were trying to open a door in the foyer, so they had to go fix it in the powder room.
Returning to the lobby, they find that Huggy has vanished from his exhibit. After recharging a control panel, the player can operate an overhead crane to recover the GrabPack‘s right hand and gain access to the “Make-a-Friend” part of the factory, where they can turn on the machinery to create a toy. Next, they scan the toy and unlock a door leading to a corridor where Huggy appears out of nowhere and chases the player through the ductwork.

When the player reaches a dead end, they can break the conveyor belt by pulling down a box, sending Huggy plunging to the factory floor below. The player then travels to the previously described graffiti, where they open a door to a corridor that leads to a room containing Poppy in a case.
The third game has the player retrieve two pieces of the code before escaping into the tunnels beneath the facility. An angry mother accuses her children of cheating and chases them through the tunnels and back into the factory, where she is eventually killed after getting stuck in the teeth of an industrial grinder. Her broken body is being lifted by a needle-like hand.
The third piece of the code is found in a spider’s web where the player discovers Poppy. The player rescues her and then runs to the train. Poppy, however, redirects the train, explaining that the events within the factory prevented her from letting the player go just yet, despite her confidence that the player is up to the challenge of whatever lies ahead. The train careens off the tracks and crashes near a “Playcare” sign.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Release Date
It will take the production company, MOB Games, another six months or more to complete Chapter 2 based on the schedule from Chapter 1 to Chapter 2. The length of time between Chapter 1’s release and Chapter 2, which was significantly longer and had more gaming aspects, is the only clue.
MOB Games may have a better idea of how to proceed now that they’ve released the game’s second installment. The implementation of Chapter 3 should be completed within the next six months. According to the teaser trailer provided by MOB Games, Chapter 3 will be released in 2023, much after the initial six-month estimate.
