There are likely many gamers who would like a PS5 Pro Controller despite all of the praise for the DualSense. They need a weapon or tactical advantage. And it can be a game changer.
The difference between winning and losing often boils down to milliseconds, so any method of minimising the delay between input and output is welcome. While it’s true that nobody enjoys coming out on the losing end, in the arena of competitive gaming, where prizes like cash and ranking points are up for grabs, this becomes even more of a concern.
Now that popular gaming brand Scuf has released their own Reflex PS5 Pro controllers, Sony may finally be ready to show off what they have in store. Here’s what we know about a possible PS5 Pro controller.
Sony is working on an official new PlayStation 5 “Pro” controller and it has some awesome features.

What Colors Will the Ps5 Pro Controller Be Available?
The PS5 was only available in white upon its release in 2020. Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Starlight Blue, Nova Pink, and Galactic Purple are just five of the new colors that have joined the original Galactic Purple and Pink versions of the DualSense controller that Sony released. Sony has also unveiled official PS5 console covers, also known as “plates,” in a range of complementary hues.
The PS5 Pro Controller could come in the same five colors, or Sony could stick to white and black. Only black is available for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, as the color black has been considered the “pro” color. Please, Sony, make some animated gifs in color.
What Will the Ps5 Pro Controller Cost?
There is already demand for “professional” controllers for video games. Looking at Microsoft’s Xbox, the Elite Wireless Controller 2nd Gen has programmable thumbsticks, trigger locks, and a wraparound rubber grip. The Razer Wolverine Ultimate is an alternative professional Xbox controller that shares many of the same features. With so many choices, it’s clear that there’s a market for high-end controllers for gaming consoles.
Sony’s rumoured PS5 Pro Controller would cost more than the base DualSense controller ($70 for white and black, $75 for the other colours), if the reports are to be believed. As a point of comparison, the MSRP of the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller 2 is $180, while the Scuf Reflex controller costs $200.
If Sony does release a PS5 Pro Controller, this should give you a good idea of what to expect. Sony could benefit from the fact that there are enough people willing to pay $180-$200 for a controller.

Ps5 Pro Controller Release Date?
There is currently no confirmed release date for the PS5 Pro Controller beyond the rumoured “it should be soon” from TryHardGuides’ source. On June 11, 2021, the Cosmic Red and Midnight Black DualSense controllers were released. In January 2022, the Starlight Blue and Nova Pink DualSense controllers were made available.
Recent Updates
It has been rumoured for some time that Sony has been working on a “Pro” version of the DualSense controller, and now it appears that this speculation may be justified. Tom Henderson of Try Hard Guides provides the specifics. Tom writes in his report that an unknown source has provided pictures of the device’s prototype.
In case you experience stick drift, you can reportedly remove the analogue sticks from the controller in seconds. Other features include trigger stops and flappy paddles. The prototype appears to have grips that can be removed to make the controller easier to hold. There have been rumours that the controller, codenamed “Hunt,” features several major software updates compared to the baseline DualSense.
Currently, there is no set date for its release. Despite speculation that Sony would reveal the Pro controller at an event on June 28, nothing official has been announced about it as of yet. Looks like we have to wait a little more to find out what we can expect from the PS5 Pro controller.
