Those who knew and worked with the radio host who passed away on air paid tribute to him as a “dear friend” and an “all-around great man.” On Monday, 55-year-old Tim Gough died unexpectedly while conducting the morning show on GenX Radio Suffolk. It was speculated that Gough was doing the broadcasting from a studio in his house.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to inform you that our beloved friend and breakfast host Tim Gough passed away this morning while presenting his program,” the station announced. Sending our best to his mother, dad, and son. Tim had found himself in his element. He was in his mid-fifties.

Station owner James Hazell elaborated, saying, “You may have heard me mention today, in an emotional condition, that I was not sure about the future of GenX in light of the tragic news of Tim’s death. Because of the several heartfelt remarks, I certainly am now.
It was Tim’s effort that helped create GenX Radio, and I refuse to see it wasted. Together, we will build a radio station of which Suffolk can be justifiably proud. Tim’s work will live on in perpetuity like this. “Absolutely sorry to hear this news about Tim,” Amy Voce, host of Virgin Radio UK, remarked.
When I was 18 years old, he was my employer at Leicester Sound and he was fantastic. My memories of him are all good ones, and we stayed in touch throughout the years; in fact, if it weren’t for him, I might not even be a radio personality today.
Gaynor Marshall, a BBC radio executive producer, commented, “Such awful news. He was an extremely kind and generous person, and he took me under his wing when I worked at Smooth Radio Nottingham. The news came as a terrible surprise.
