Riverdale Season 7 Storyline
Riverdale Season 7: In the season finale of Riverdale, a deadly comet approached, and a lot of things happened. The town of Riverdale, where Archie and his pals reside, will never be the same. In case you missed it: Percival has sent a comet directly into Riverdale and has also built a force field around the city, making escape impossible. (Veronica: “I’m so glad I moved here a sophomore year.)
While Cheryl believes she knows someone who can reverse Percival’s spells, Archie is set on digging a tunnel under the force barrier anyhow. Hello, Sabrina! Instead, they consult Cheryl’s great-great-grandmother Abigail Blossom, who says that the icy comet may be easily melted by her granddaughter’s phoenix-like wrath. (How come no one suggested that?) On the other hand, she hopes to be reunited with Thomasina, whom she loves dearly.
Cheryl explains to the group that she has the ability to melt the comet, but that doing so could drain all of her abilities, resulting in the deaths of everyone she has brought back from the dead. (Archie, Jughead, Toni, Fangs, et cetera…) something close to half the cast.) She also makes a request of Toni, saying that they should allow Abigail and Thomasina to possess their bodies so that they might spend one more night together “in carnal form.”
She gives in, and Cheryl and Toni let Abigail and Thomasina use their bodies while they play sexually with each other. In addition, Archie’s mom shows up for a visit at the worst possible time, and he tells Veronica he wants to propose to Betty (!) but he can’t afford a ring on his own. The world is ending, so it’s probably not the best time to ask your ex-girlfriend for a ring to propose to your current flame.

While alone with Betty, Archie proposes: “We may not have much time, but I know what I want to do with it. Just get married to me. Despite her appreciation, she tells him that a comet is headed straight for their city. While he asked her to marry him when they were young, she told him to come back to ask again when they were adults. “Ask me again when Cheryl melts that comet,” she says.
He’s willing to accept it… and is now more determined than ever to overcome whatever barrier stands in his way. What’s more, after Abigail and Thomasina leave their bodies, Cheryl and Toni wake up in bed together with no recollection of the events that transpired (or do they?). Abigail also sends Cheryl a rope with a thousand knots on it, explaining that if Cheryl untangles them, Percival’s shield would collapse.
Then what transpired? According to Jughead, the strategy was successful: Cheryl rescued everyone, and Riverdale was spared from the comet’s destruction. But it’s a little different than how we know it: Archie puts on his letterman’s jacket and heads downstairs for breakfast to hear his mother tell him that James Dean has passed away.
What?! It’s true; thanks to Cheryl, they’ve been transported back to 1955, where they find themselves back in high school. Jughead, decked out in his classic crown beanie, observes, “Perhaps we had to revert to a more primitive era in order to survive.” also, he’s the only local who can recall life before the comet hit.
