I consider myself extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to work with, learn from, and have so much fun with such a remarkable individual as him.

Acting in the 1987 miniseries The Majestics, which chronicled the rise and fall of the Scottish rock band, was Robbie’s first nomination for a British Academy Television Award. He then went on to play one of his most recognisable characters, Dr. Eddie “Fitz” Fitzgerald, in the 1993 ITV crime drama Cracker. Very sad news. He had such range and depth as an actor, from brilliant comedy to hard-edged drama. I think my favourite of all his roles was Fitz in Cracker.
