On Sunday, Corinth Street in Roslindale, just before 9 a.m., a car crashed into the side of a block of stores, exposing Sarah’s Skin Care and Makeup Studio and the next-door Leise Jones Photography studio to the weather.
The building has a lot of damage to its structure. It is home to several small businesses in a close-knit neighborhood.
“Every business is a small business, and we all run it. We’re all entrepreneurs. There are a lot of one-person businesses and family businesses. The owners are all family people, and we all live in the neighborhood. I think it will be a real test for the Roslindale community, and we’ll be looking for support and help from people in the area. Stated Leise Jones.
Sarah Kosky, who owns Sarah’s Skin Care and Makeup Studio, said, “I’ve been going back and forth between an adrenaline rush and heightened senses, and I’ve been crying my eyes out for at least an hour now.”
Fire officials said Boston’s EMS took the driver to a nearby hospital.
People there said the driver could get out of the car before a piece of the brick facade fell on it. The driver seemed only to have cuts on his head, and his face could be seen.
“We can’t believe the person was only hurt a little,” someone at the scene said.

The biggest worry for the firefighters was that the building might fall.
Boston Police are telling drivers in Roslindale to stay away from Birch Street and South Street and find another way to get where they need to go.
A front-end loader was used to get the car out of the building.
When we talked to small business owners, they asked people to come out and help them.
Kosky said, “I don’t know what I’m going to do.” “This is hard anytime, but it breaks my heart at Christmas.”
Mayor Michelle Wu went to the crash site and told the business owners she was there to help.
Mayor Wu said, “Our top goal is to do everything we can to help people get back on their feet.”
Crews will likely stay at the scene all night to ensure the building is safe.
The cause of the crash is still being looked into. Officials said that the driver had not been drinking and driving.
