The 92-year-old media mogul Rupert Murdoch is engaged to Ann Lesley Smith, a former police chaplain and the widow of country music legend Chester Smith.
The couple first met in September of 2016 at Murdoch’s Moraga winery in Bel Air, California, and they got engaged on St. Patrick’s Day in New York City.
Murdoch told one of his magazines, The New York Post, that he was “extremely frightened” and “dreaded falling in love,” but that he knew Smith would be his last wife. “It had better be. I’m content, “That were his words.

Smith has remarked that she and Murdoch “have the same ideals” and “speak the same language.” Smith had been married twice before, first to attorney John B. Huntington and later to Chester Smith, founder of the Spanish television behemoth Univision. Their love was a “gift from God,” she said.

Rupert Murdoch’s Fifth Wedding
This summer, the couple plans to tie the wedding and then divide their time between California, Great Britain, Montana, and New York. In August of 2022, Murdoch formalized his divorce from ex-supermodel Jerry Hall, making this his fifth marriage. Through his first three marriages, he produced six children. The legal dispute between Murdoch’s Fox News subsidiary and Dominion Voting Systems originates from suspicions of election fraud propagated by Fox News hosts and analysts.
