During his teenage years, Blaney was victorious in several racing competitions. He won the Eastern Grand Nationals quarter midget event 2009 and the PASS South Super Late Model Series in 2010. Blaney won the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship at Phoenix International Raceway 2011. He joined Tommy Baldwin Racing in April of 2012 and competed in six NASCAR Nationwide Series races that year.
In July 2012, Blaney signed on with Team Penske to compete in at least three Nationwide Series events. On September 15, 2012, at Iowa Speedway, he became the youngest winner in the history of the Camping World Truck Series while driving for Brad Keselowski Racing in the series—the present moment.

Blaney is a regular member of Team Penske’s NASCAR Cup Series lineup, where he pilots the #12 Ford Mustang. Blaney has won four races, finished in the top ten forty-three times, and been on the pole position once in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He has also won four races, finished in the full ten forty-five times, and been on the pole position five times in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
