After a courageous fight with leukemia, Ryan O’Neil has succumbed to his illness at the age of 82. Friday was O’Neil’s passing. He had battled prostate cancer since 2012. Tatum O’Neil, his daughter, used Instagram to announce the news.

And the most handsome clearly, but also the most charming. Lethal combo. He loved to make people laugh. It’s pretty much his goal. Inspiring laughter was his specialty. It’s essentially his aim. He always managed to find the perfect joke, no matter what the situation was. He wanted us to laugh so badly. Laughter ensued for everyone. Without fail. It was a blast. Enjoying the sunshine.

“He’s sweet as sugar, and he’s volatile,” the filmmaker said. “He’s got some of that Irish stuff in him, and he can blow up a bit. One day he was doing a scene and I said, ‘Bring it down a little bit,’ and Ryan said, ‘I quit! You can’t say “Bring it down” to me that loud!’.
“If you give up, I’ll sever your nose,” I said. He began to sob. He has a lot of talent, is a wonderful man, and can be a bit of a brat at times. He was a big star, but his career has been odd.
