The loss of a family member has left Sarah Jessica Parker in despair. The death of the 57-year-old actress’ stepfather, Paul Giffin Forste, who had been married to her mother, Barbara, for more than half a century, took place on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the actress’ family to Page Six. He was 76.

The family of Paul Giffin Forste issued a statement that reads, “Our family is sad to announce that following an unexpected and fast illness, Paul Giffin Forste passed away yesterday at the age of 76.” “During his final moments, he was surrounded by the affection and gratitude of his cherished wife Barbara, whom he had been married to for 54 years, and children, including Sarah Jessica Parker.”

The statement comes to a conclusion by saying that Paul will be remembered for “the spirit of loving compassion which was his faith; his great delight in his 13 grandchildren; and his continued belief in making the world a more charitable, tolerant, and beautiful place for all.”

The representative for Parker has been contacted by ET to provide a statement.

Following the confirmation by ET that Parker had to cancel her appearance at the global virtual press conference for Hocus Pocus 2 on Wednesday due to a family issue, the devastating news was released. In addition, she skipped the New York Ballet 2022 Fall Fashion Gala at Lincoln Center, where she was supposed to be honored, on the same day, as previously reported by ET.

Page Six was informed by a reliable source that Parker exited the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center a few minutes after her arrival there. The news outlet asserts that it was revealed from the stage that the actress departed due to a “sudden catastrophic family problem,” and that the reason was given for her departure.
