Disney Plus doesn’t have the best sci-fi library. Prime Video or Netflix is likely to be the source of the video you see. It’s not all bad. There are some humdingers. Following these rules, here are our picks for some of the best science fiction movies on Disney Plus.
Disney+ has been around for less than two months, but even though it has a small library and rarely adds new things (with a few exceptions), it already has a lot of science fiction TV shows and movies to watch. Marvel shows and movies maybe even more available on Disney+ than they are on the Disney DVD set.
It’s not just Marvel Studios that make live-action movies. There is also a lot of different animated series, both new and old, that feature well-known Marvel characters.

1. Avatar
The Navi is a group of people who look primitive but are very advanced. They live on Pandora, an alien world that is very beautiful. Human/Navi hybrids called “Avatars” must link to human minds in order to move freely on Pandora. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paralyzed former Marine, is able to move again thanks to one of these Avatars. He falls in love with a Navi woman (Zoe Saldana). This happens as the two of them become more close. He gets drawn into a fight to save her world.

2. Flight of the Navigator
David (Joey Cramer) is 12 years old and lives in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with his family. This 1978 Disney movie tells the story of David and his family. It has been eight years since he fell asleep in the forest near his home. His family is happy that he’s back, but they’re also surprised by the fact that he hasn’t aged. NASA scientist Howard Hesseman finds a UFO near David’s house. David has a chance to solve the mystery and get back the life he lost.
3. WALL-E
WALL-E, which stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class, is the last robot on Earth. It is the name of a movie. His job is to clean up the world one piece of trash at a time. In the past 700 years, WALL-E has become more than a little lonely. Then he sees EVE (Elissa Knight), a probe that was sent back to Earth to look for signs of life. WALL-E is in love with EVE, so he goes on his best adventure yet when he follows her across the galaxy.
4. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
When kids sneak into Wayne Szalinski’s (Rick Moranis) upstairs lab to get a lost baseball, his shrink ray makes them smaller. At the end, when Szalinski comes home, he destroys the device, which he thinks is a failure, and throws it away, with the kids in the trash with it, too. The four kids, who are now 1/4-inch tall, have to make it back to the house through a yard where sprinklers make dangerous storms and ants run like elephants.
5. Tron: Legacy
Garrett Hedlund is the son of Kevin Flynn, a well-known video game developer who mysteriously went missing. Sam has been haunted by this for a long time. For the last 20 years, his father has been stuck in the same computer world as Flynn’s Arcade. A strange signal draws Sam to the arcade. They want to get out of an amazing and dangerous universe with Quorra (Olivia Wilde), but Kevin doesn’t think it’s as easy as he thought it was.
6. Thor: Ragnarok
When Thor is locked up on the other side of the universe, he finds himself facing off against the Hulk, a former ally and fellow Avenger. When Thor wants to live, he has to race against time to stop Hela from destroying his homeworld
and the Asgardian way of life.
7. Inside Out
In the movie, Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a happy 11-year-old Midwestern girl who loves hockey. When Riley and her parents move to San Francisco, her world is turned upside down. People like Amy Poehler play Riley’s emotions. They lead her through this hard, life-changing event. Sadness (Phyllis Smith), on the other hand, comes to the fore because of the stress of moving. It happens that Joy and Sadness get pushed out of Riley’s mind by accident. Only anger, fear, and disgust remain in Headquarters after that.
8. Avengers: Endgame
Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to run low in space. There is no food or water in space. There are still a few of the Avengers left. They have to figure out how to bring back their friends who were killed in the fight with Thanos, who is the evil demigod who took over the world and the universe.
9. The Empire Strikes Back
The adventure continues in this “Star Wars” sequel. Imperial forces and AT-AT walkers attack Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca on the ice planet Hoth, where they live. In the Millennium Falcon, Han and Leia flee to a safe place. Luke goes to Dagobah in search of Yoda. In order for Luke to survive when the dark side of the Force calls him into a duel with Darth Vader, he needs help from the Jedi master (David Prowse).
10. The Last Jedi
Luke Skywalker lives a peaceful and solitary life until he meets Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force. Her desire to learn the ways of the Jedi forces Luke to make a decision that will change their lives for the rest of their lives. Meanwhile, Kylo Ren and General Hux lead the First Order in a full-scale attack on Leia and the Resistance for the galaxy’s top spot, while the Resistance fight back.
