Sea Beast 2 Storyline
The sea creatures have been attacking people for hundreds of years. The sailors who respond are known as “hunters,” and the most renowned and successful of these is the crew of the Inevitable, led by the legendary Captain Crow, his first mate Sarah Sharpe, and his adopted son Jacob Holland, who set sail across the ocean in search of the animals.
The Crown’s King and Queen support the hunters monetarily, and they’ve created a high-status group known as Three Bridges as a result of the hunters’ achievements through the years. Crow promises Jacob captaincy once they kill the Red Bluster, a female sea beast who caught his eye decades ago but nearly cost him his life during a hunt.
After returning to Three Bridges to collect payment for their most recent haul, the crew is informed that they will soon be replaced by a navy vessel named the Imperator, captained by Admiral Hornagold, who views the hunters as obsolete and will continue the hunt of sea animals in their stead.
Because of this, Crow and Sarah become angry, and Jacob suggests giving his squad another chance to kill the Red Bluster in order to prove their worth. The Crown accepts, and announces a competition between the crews of the “Imperator” and “Inevitable,” with the winner being granted permission to hunt the sea monsters in the name of the Crown.

After setting sail, the crew learns that a young orphan named Maisie Brumble had sneaked aboard the vessel to go with them after being moved to do so by the deaths of her parents, who were killed in a hunting accident. The Inevitable has located the Red Bluster and is now attacking it. Jacob reluctantly gives in to Crow’s commands and helps Maisie cut the rope linking the ship to the Bluster, saving the crew but releasing the Bluster and casting Jacob and Maisie overboard. Crow is furious and threatens to kill them both unless Jacob brings Maisie to him immediately.
Jacob and Maisie are transported by the Bluster to a remote island inhabited by a menagerie of creatures. Maisie learns that the Bluster is friendly and names her “Red.” She also names a smaller beast “Blue,” and they become fast friends. Despite Jacob’s denials, Maisie eventually comes to the conclusion that the monsters are only harmless misfits. So that they can board a ship back to Three Bridges, Jacob and Maisie persuade Red to take them to Rum Pepper island.
Crow goes in search of the elderly merchant Gwen Batterbie after learning that Jacob has been presumed dead. Batterbie arms Crow with a harpoon loaded with poison that is deadly enough to use on Red. While riding on Red, Jacob and Maisie develop a close relationship with the creature and with each other, and Jacob comes to agree with Maisie that the beasts are good at heart.
They get to Rum Pepper Island but find the Imperator and Hornagold already stationed there. After being shot at by a crewmember, Red attacks the ship, accidentally injuring Maisie in the process. Immediately upon the Imperator’s demise, Jacob temporarily halts Red’s plans to execute Hornagold.
