Singer Selena Gomez has spoken out against the actions of some of her supporters. During an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on Spotify earlier this week, Hailey Bieber discussed the criticism she has received from some of Gomez’s fans because of her marriage to singer Justin Bieber.
Gomez and Bieber dated on and off for years before breaking up in 2018, just before he became engaged to the former Hailey Baldwin. Model claims she is harassed by Gomez fans who think she “stole” Justin Bieber from Selena Gomez. The comments infuriated Gomez’s legion of devoted fans, prompting her to use Thursday’s TikTok Live broadcast to apologize.
Gomez was recorded saying, “I think some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting, and it’s not fair, and no one, ever, should be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen,” in a video that has since been removed from her account but is still widely available online.
Just know that it’s incredibly ironic that I would put out a project centered on positive feedback because that’s what I seek most of all. And that’s the end of that. Gomez continued by saying that if you supported her beauty line, Rare, “I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means. Also, what you say has an impact.

A podcast called “Call Her Daddy” featured Hailey Bieber, who claimed that Gomez and Justin Bieber “were not in a relationship” before she started dating him. At the 19-minute mark of her interview, she said, “I think that there are situations where you can still kind of have a back-and-forth with someone, but even that was not the situation.”
I can categorically state that I never dated him while he was seeing another woman. I think that settles the matter. She added that she and Gomez are on good terms now that she is married to Gomez’s ex-boyfriend in 2018. To put it another way, “that’s why I’m like, it’s all respect. Bieber said, “It’s all love” at the 46:43 mark.
This is why I think it’s okay if everyone on our side is clear on what happened and can move on with mutual respect and understanding. Neither she nor her husband has ever asked Gomez to tell her fans to stop bullying her online, but she does wish Jelena Stan would treat her with a little more dignity.
It was her firm stance that “you don’t have to like me” that was offensive. To which the other responded, “But you don’t have to say anything, either, because behind this person that you’re looking at on a screen is a person with a brain and a heart and emotions and issues that I face.”
