Season two of Shadow and Bone has begun, and everyone is still fighting the Darkling and the Fold with Alina, Mal, the Crows, and the rest of the Crows. Season 2 may have reached its maximum capacity in terms of action and story development, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be a Season 3 if Netflix grants the go-ahead. Shadow and Bone have not yet been formally renewed for a third season by Netflix, but there is already talk of a third season, including some comments from showrunner Eric Heisserer. All the information we have on Season 3 of Shadow and Bone is included below.

Is Shadow And Bone season 3?
It comes as no surprise that Netflix has yet to confirm the return of Shadow and Bone. The sitcom wasn’t renewed after its first season until June 2021, much after its initial airing in late April. Which is to say, there’s no need to freak out just yet; Netflix may decide to renew the contract at some point in the future.

Shadow And Bone Season 3 Be Released?
We can assume a two-year wait for the next season based on the time between the first two. Since Netflix hasn’t announced a third season just yet, it’s safe to assume that production has halted and it will be at least as long before we see it as it took for season two to debut.

Will Mal And Alina Be In Shadow And Bone Season 3?
It seems likely, yet it also appears unlikely that they will be in the same area at the same time, at least not when the new season begins. Unlike in the books, where Mal and Alina are able to stay together as the (powerless) owners of the orphanage that brought them together, the show’s second season drastically alters the plot of the books, sending them in different routes. The show’s executive producer, Eric Heisserer, will talk about the decision in a future interview with Polygon. “From a practical sense, we don’t want to lose Archie and Jessie to a cottage,” Heisserer added. For us to make that decision would be disastrous. They’re wonderful people; whenever Jessie’s on set, things instantly brighten up.
