American journalist and 60 Minutes reporter Sharyn Alfonsi. In her first television interview, Sharyn appeared on 60 Minutes on March 1, 2015. She was honored with the 2019 DuPont-Columbia Journalism Prize. She started out with KHBS-KHOG-TV in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1995 before moving on to WVEC-TV in Norfolk, KIRO-TV in Seattle, and WBZ-TV in Boston.

Journalism as a Profession for Sharyn Alfonsi
She started her career in the media industry as a news reporter, weekend weather anchor, editor, and photographer for KHBS-TV. Then, from 1995 to 1997, she was a general assignment reporter for Virginia’s WVEC-TV. She went on to work as a reporter and fill-in anchor for Washington’s KIRO-TV.
While working at KIRO-TV, she reported on the protests outside the World Trade Organization. The well-known reporter also began anchoring CBS News’ nightly programs from New York. As if that weren’t enough, she also hosted GMA and World News.
