Netflix has picked up “Somebody Feed Phil,” Phil Rosenthal’s show about food and travel, for a seventh season. The series follows Rosenthal, who is best known as the creator and showrunner of “Everybody Loves Raymond,” as he travels to different cities around the world and tries out new foods and cultures.
Rosenthal told Variety how his background in comedy influences his work on “Somebody Feed Phil”: “I get ideas for characters from sitcoms because I’m always looking for them. I know that I’m just a character. My brother, Richard Rosenthal, who co-produces the show with me, gets it by putting me in situations where, for example, Anthony Bourdain would be very brave and fearless. He knows that I won’t do as well as he does. That’s great!”
