Police in Southlake shot and killed a man they claim was holding a pistol at them during a traffic stop and was wanted in connection with a murder that happened on Monday in North Richland Hills. Monday afternoon, North Richland Hills Police identified a person of interest in a homicide there, and when they called Southlake Police for assistance, Chief of Police James Brandon stated his men responded.
In a parking lot of a retail complex next to Carroll Avenue in the 1200 block of Texas 114’s eastbound service road, the Southlake police officers pulled over the man’s automobile. Brandon claims that the driver of the automobile jumped out and pointed a gun at the policemen. Four officers fired their weapons, striking the victim.

According to a news release from Southlake police, he was transferred to a hospital where he later passed away from his wounds. His identity has not yet been made public. Also not immediately known were the cops who fired the shot. With police experience ranging from eight to 31 years, Captain, Sergeant, Corporal, and Officer are among their ranks, according to Brandon.
According to the departmental procedure, all four were put on administrative leave until the investigations were finished. Although Brandon reported the man had a gun, it was unclear whether he had fired on the police. Witnesses informed NBC 5 that they saw police officers doing CPR on the shot victim.
The driver’s side door of the automobile was open, and there was a considerable amount of blood on the pavement nearby. That door had broken glass and multiple bullet holes. Police have warned folks to stay away from the area because the Texas 114 eastbound service road is closed at Carroll Avenue. Brandon stated that the inquiry was in its early stages and that not many other details were known as of Monday afternoon.
