The Seminole County Fire Department said that one person was killed when a SunRail train crashed into a pickup truck near Sanford on Monday afternoon.
Florida Highway Patrol says the accident happened at 3:37 p.m. at West Airport Boulevard and Old Lake Mary Road intersection.
Troopers said the truck was going north on Old Lake Mary Road while the train was also going north on the tracks.
Troopers said the arms of the railroad gate came down, and the signal lights turned on, but the truck driver tried to turn right onto West Airport Boulevard. FHP says that because of this, the train hit the right side of the truck.

SunRail said on Twitter that Train P332 northbound would be canceled and Trains P322 northbound and P329 southbound would be two hours late because police were going to the tracks between the Lake Mary and Sanford stations.
