CoMix Wave Films is the company that made Suzume no Tojimari, and Toho is the company that distributes the movie, so they work together.
Suzume No Tojimari Plot
This is a story about Suzume, a 17-year-old girl who lives in a peaceful village in the Kyushu region of Japan’s southwestern Kyushu. At the beginning of the story, Suzume meets a young man who is looking for a “door.” They journey together and discover an old door at an abandoned house in the highlands. Suzume reaches out her hand toward the entrance and is pulled in. “Doors of Disaster” began to appear across Japan, which triggered a series of tragic events.
The film is a journey through Japan in which Suzume must close and lock the “Doors of Disaster” one by one to prevent disasters, as well as an adventure and battle in the modern world in the discovery of a girl’s maturity and freedom.

Suzume No Tojimari Is Set To Be Released In 2022
Suzume no Tojimari, the next film by director Makoto Shinkai, is scheduled for release on November 11th, 2022 in Japan. However, based on previous successful films like Weathering With You and Your Name, we can make reasonable estimates about a worldwide release. In the press release, the working title is Suzume no Tojimari, but the main character’s name is – you got it – Suzume, so it might stick.
When might the film be available to audiences outside of Japan? Japan published Weathering With You in July 2019. It was released in North America in January 2020 by GKIDS, who bought the film’s rights and distributed it there. Before its Japanese theatrical release in August of that year, Your Name had its world premiere at Anime Expo in July of 2016. In April 2017, the film was released in theatres in the United States for the first time. It’s a good thing that anime films are making their way around the world faster these days. Many fans of Makoto Shinkai’s films are expecting the same thing with Suzume no Tojimari.
