South Korean actor Lee Dong-Wook, actress Jo Bo-ah, and actor Kim Bum will star in the upcoming television drama Nine Tailed (Gumihodyeon; lit. Tale of the Nine-Tailed Fox), set to air in 2020. tvN aired all 16 episodes between October 7 and December 3, 2020, at 22:30 (KST) on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
To improve the quality of the final four episodes, the show went on hiatus for a week beginning on November 18, 2020, and during that time, a behind-the-scenes special called Tale of the Nine-Tailed: A 600 Year Legend aired (Gumihodyeon – 600nyeon-UI jeonseol). Tale of the Nine-Tailed: An Unfinished Story, a three-part prequel that aired from November 18 to December 4, focused on Lee Yeon’s younger brother Lee Rang and his accomplice Ki Yu-ri.
Tale Of The Nine-Tailed Season 2 Storyline
Within the opening ten minutes of the premiere episode of Tale of the Nine-Tailed, the potential quality of this fantasy series is established. We start with a brief overview of this fascinating setting before getting to the meat of the story. Once a fox reaches the age of 100, it transforms into a stunning female or male partner. It grants the user extraordinary powers, such as the ability to foresee the future, fly, or even change form. We skip the exposition and jump right into a 1999 scenario that’s surprisingly frightening and creepy.
As they drive down the road, a family watches as the lights on the street suddenly go dark. The lights go out and darkness swallows the car. Little Ji A makes it through the car ride while her exhausted parents slump helplessly in their chairs. She thinks she sees two people strolling around the automobile, but they turn out to be her parents’ ghosts.
It’s clear that something is very wrong when Ji-A wakes up on the sofa next to the two of them. They have a scary laugh at the news stories of fire and completely forget about Ji A’s nut allergy. This young girl, fearing the worst, stabs her mother (or a woman who looks like her) and runs into the storage room. She closes and locks the door behind her. The last glimmer of hope disappears as a mysterious figure appears and tells Ji-A to forget all she’s witnessed. When the girl opens her eyes, she finds herself right back at the site of the crime with her parents nowhere in sight.
Twenty-one years later, a man called Lee Yeon is getting married. Although the rest of the people around him are taken off guard by a sudden downpour, he knows what’s going on. He enters the building, his bright red umbrella in hand. As it turns out, a fox is about to tie the knot, which is why all of this is happening. Lee Yeon, along with the bride, confronts her about her bloodthirsty history and gives her permission to leave her husband. On the other hand, young Ji-A has grown up and is now a TV reporter who specializes in investigating paranormal activity. That’s actually what drew them here for the wedding, so that’s kind of interesting.
Unfortunately, Ji-A has very little to work on because the informant there has abandoned the ship. She has no idea that a huge brawl has broken out in the room next to hers. Lee Yeon’s lightning quickness is terrifying, and he easily dispatches the bride before she turns to ash. While Lee Yeon is leaving, Ji-A notices the same mysterious stranger. Despite the passage of time, she still remembers him from the time they shared an apartment.
Jae-Hwan is hopeful that the fact that the wedding was called off is the story they were always meant to break. When Ji-A investigates the hall where the ceremony would take place, she finds blood splatters and indications of resistance. As an added bonus, she recognizes a rare fox species’ fur on the dress. Meanwhile, Lee Yeon strikes into a conversation with a curious kid who presses him on his identity. It’s a witty exchange that proves Lee Yeon is older than a millennium and yet looking for his soul mate. Eventually, Lee Yeon leaves and reports to the Afterlife Immigration Service in the sky.
This is where Lee Yeon operates and where he discusses his prior decision with his Nanny (Taluipa). In exchange for accepting A-rebirths, Eun chose to take on the form of a nine-tailed fox. Lee Rang had a change of heart in the middle and decides to start a bet instead. She will die if you don’t find it by the end of next month.
When Ji-A comes, she begs Le Yeon to clarify what this means. He manages to captivate her into forgetting everything with his orange eyes. But obviously, she hasn’t because she recorded the whole thing. The hypnotizing failed, and she knows his name because she scanned his fingerprints. She takes a rapid backward leap off the structure, and Lee Yeon leaps after her. She snatches the girl out of the air and brings her down safely.

Kim Bum
South Korean actor, dancer, singer, and model Kim Sang-bum (Korean: born July 7, 1989), better known as Kim Bum (alternatively Kim Beom). He is well-known for his roles on television shows such as Boys Over Flowers (2009) as F4 member So Yi-jung, Padam Padam (2011) as guardian angel Lee Gook-soo, Mrs. Cop 2 (2016) as villainous CEO Lee Ro-Joon, Tale of the Nine Tailed (2020) as half-blood gumiho Lee Rang, and Law School (2019) as Han Joon Hwi (2021).
