According to WSB, a witness named Johari Humbles stated that Brewley resided within a block of the spot where she was murdered. Nic Taylor, a resident, told the TV station that he was awakened by gunfire.
He said, “I was frightened; it sounded like a war was going on outside.” I mean, normally when you hear gunshots it’s just like ‘Pow! Pow! Pow!’ and it’s over, but that sounded like a good 20 seconds.
No suspects in the shooting have been identified by police. On Thursday night, a candlelight vigil will be held as a memorial for Brewley.
