Governor Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that a Texas Elementary School Shooting: Chris Evans, Taylor Swift, and More Reactgunman opened fire at an elementary school in Texas, killing at least 19 pupils and two adults. The shooter is also dead, according to Abbott, and is thought to have been slain by responding authorities. Abbott made his remarks after an active shooter was reported at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, about an hour and a half west of San Antonio.
The shooter, Abbott claimed, was an 18-year-old Uvalde resident. According to him, the suspect, Salvador Ramos, abandoned his vehicle and then entered the school with a handgun and maybe a rifle. “He shot and killed 14 pupils and a teacher in a horrendous, incomprehensible manner,” Abbott stated at the time.

Celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, and others flocked to social media to express their sorrow at the massacre in Texas and to give their thoughts to the victims’ families. Kardashian wrote on Twitter that she’s “heartbroken, disgusted, and furious about how little has been done by lawmakers to enact gun laws that protect our children,” and that she’s “heartbroken, disgusted, and furious about how little has been done by lawmakers to enact gun laws that protect our children.”
“There is no reason or excuse for what happened yesterday. Our country’s present gun-control laws are failing to protect our children “she penned “We must compel legislators to enact laws that are appropriate for today’s reality.

Semiautomatic firearms, assault weapons, and war weapons should not be sold or owned by people in the United States. They should be prohibited. Period.” “Assault weapons are not a self-defense tool,” Kardashian said in her essay, pointing out that AR-15 style semiautomatic rifles were utilized in many mass shootings.
She pointed out that “assault weapons didn’t even exist when the Second Amendment was established.” “We must no longer allow people to exploit a sentence written hundreds of years ago, when technology, times, and humanity were all very different, to dictate how we control gun ownership and safeguard our children now.”
Kardashian also expressed concern about the legal age for purchasing a rifle, which she believes “has to be addressed and increased.” Kardashian wrote, “Someone who is not old enough to buy booze should not be permitted to acquire a handgun.”
“There is no world in which an 18-year-old needs a semi-automatic weapon or any weapon, and there is no world in which the conclusion can be anything but awful. Even as I type these lines, I am astounded that this is considered regular, acceptable, and legal behavior.”
While Kardashian accepted that “mental health, racism, and deep-seated hatred all play a role in the motive for mass shootings in recent years,” she added that “access to firearms is the one thing that lawmakers can and should regulate today.”
“We can without a doubt minimize the number of senseless tragedies and save children’s lives if we raise the legal age to purchase, coupled with a ban on assault weapons,” she wrote. “We can no longer accept this as usual. It is unusual for a teenager to murder youngsters. It is unusual for our children to participate in active shooter drills in schools. It’s unusual to be shot while doing grocery shopping.”
Yesterday 19 children were murdered by an 18 year old, and I find myself heartbroken, disgusted and furious about how little has been done by law makers to enact gun laws that protect our children.

“It hasn’t numbed me. It will never be able to numb me. We are unable to accept it. We can’t afford to wait another five years for strong, impactful legislation to protect our children “Kardashian went on. “We’re parents, mothers, and we’re crying and appealing for help.”
Kardashian ended by saying, “Consider the impact on an entire school of children who witnessed one of their classmates die in front of them. Everyone involved will be traumatized for the rest of their lives. My sadness for the parents whose children did not return home from school yesterday is indescribable. I’m pleading with our leaders to put politics aside and prioritize children.”
The shooting has left Britney Spears’ heart “shattered,” she posted on Instagram.
“I’m lost for words. My prayers are with the victims of Robb Elementary and their families,” she wrote. “Our sympathies and condolences are just not enough. We have to take action. We need change. Enough is enough. We will keep our prayers coming even if it’s not enough to heal the loss.”
McConaughey also took to Instagram to express his condolences after the massacre in his hometown.
“Once again, we have tragically proven that we are failing to be responsible for the rights our freedoms grant us,” he wrote. “The true call to action is now for every American to take a longer and deeper look in the mirror and ask ourselves, ‘What is it that we truly value? How do we repair the problem? What small sacrifices can we individually take today, to preserve a healthier and safer nation, state, and neighborhood tomorrow?'”
“We cannot exhale once again, make excuses and accept these tragic realities as the status quo. As Americans, Texans, mothers, and fathers, it’s time we re-evaluate and renegotiate our wants from our needs,” McConaughey continued. “We have to rearrange our values and find a common ground above this devastating American reality that has tragically become our children’s issue.”
On all sides of the political line, “we all know we can do better,” said the actor, who noted that “we can control this epidemic.”
“We must do better. Action must be taken so that no parent has to experience what the parents in Uvalde and the others before them have endured,” he concluded. “And to those who dropped off their loved ones today not knowing it was goodbye, no words can comprehend or heal your loss, but if prayers can provide comfort, we will keep them coming.”

Filled with rage and grief, and so broken by the murders in Uvalde. By Buffalo, Laguna Woods and so many others. By the ways in which we, as a nation, have become conditioned to unfathomable and unbearable heartbreak. Steve’s words ring so true and cut so deep. https://t.co/Rb5uwSTxty
