Because the second season has focused on the ministry of Jesus and how the news of his miracles is spreading throughout the world, we can expect the number of followers of Jesus to grow as he wins the faith of more and more people.
Additionally, because the majority of the events depicted thus far have been taken from the gospels and beautifully depicted, we can expect more such stories to take place in the remaining eight episodes. Jesus is also being evaluated as a potential danger to the Roman empire, and we may expect to see more of this in the upcoming season of Rome.

As for the major three characters, Shahar Issac will portray Simon, Paras Patel will portray Matthew, Jonathan Roumie will portray Jesus Christ himself, and Elizabeth Tabish will portray Mary Magdalene.
