A proclamation commemorating senior centers and an update on the city’s new recreation and events department will be discussed at the first meeting of the month of September of the Clearlake City Council. The Clearlake City Council will convene on Thursday, September 1, at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at 14050 Olympic Drive.
The Lake County PEGTV YouTube Channel or the city’s YouTube channel will also stream the meeting live. Members in the community can attend in person or through Zoom. The schedule is available here. For the consideration of the City Council, written comments and inquiries should be sent to Melissa Swanson, the city clerk, at mswanson@clearlake.ca.us. Please send your written comments by Thursday, September 1 at 4 p.m. so that the council has enough time to evaluate them.
The mayor or a staff member will read out each public comment sent through email to the city clerk for a maximum of three minutes, or it will be shown on a screen. Emails and town hall submissions made in response to the public’s comments after the meeting has started will not be recorded. A resolution designating September 2022 as Senior Center Month is scheduled for discussion on Thursday. The council will also receive an update from municipal staff on the formation of a new leisure and events division.
The new division, which is a part of the city’s Administrative Services Department, was approved by the council in June. The council will also host a private meeting to talk about contract negotiations for a property in Clearlake at 6828 Old Highway 53.
