The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers Season 3 Storyline
Part 10 of Season 1 of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers The Season 1 conclusion, titled “The State of Play,” is a belated continuation of the original 1990s film trilogy. In the opening scene of the series finale, the Don’t Bothers, nervous about playing in their first state finals game, arrive at the rink. Bombay tells them that everything would be alright because hockey ice is hockey ice.
Sofi scored the first goal of the season to put them ahead in the first game. They’ll need a strong defensive performance in their next game if they want to advance in the competition. The Ducks are making progress, too. The Don’t Bother to go to the semi-finals thanks to a game-winning goal from Evan in the quarter-finals.
They congratulate her on the success of the Don’t Bother and assure her that she made the correct decision in leaving the Ducks. Finally, they inform her that the story of her time with the team would make a great addition to her college application. When they question if she hurt her knee again, she limps away from the conversation and says no.
Evan is saddened by the fact that Koob’s parents never show up to see him play in goal, and he expresses his sympathy for his goalie. Mary Joe shows up to tell the Don’t Bother that their rivals, the Ducks, won their semi-final game and are now in the state finals; if the Don’t Bothers win their upcoming game, the two teams will play for the title.
Bombay warns them not to look too far ahead and advises them to keep their attention on the semi-final match at hand. Bombay orders everyone to hold off for a while before returning to the ice. For the last period, the Don’t Bother skates out in vintage Mighty Ducks gear that he has just retrieved from a storage box.
As the third period begins, Evan tells Nick that he is his closest buddy, which motivates Nick to score and bring the score to 3-2. Logan makes a brilliant trick play to tie the game. The clock is down to the final 30 seconds, and both teams call a timeout to plot their next moves. Sofi offers Evan a quick kiss before he goes back to the game.
The Don’t Bother won in dramatic fashion at the end of regulation by breaking out the old standby, the flying V, and setting up Evan for a game-winning goal just before time ran out. After Coach T’s temper tantrum, Stephanie steps in to keep her word on the bet and renames the Don’t Bother the Mighty Ducks.
After congratulating Alex on recovering the moniker, Bombay dumps a bucket of Gatorade on both of them. The group quacks all the way through the victory lap. The show ends with a fade to a shot of Bombay scraping the ice off the brand-new Ice Palace emblem in the center. Finalizing the first season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, the team unveils a new logo proclaiming the arena as the team’s new home.
