The Nevers Season 2 Storyline
Episode 1 of The Nevers begins in London in 1899 with a montage of our characters working and leaving the house. Amalia True and Penance Adair seek Myrtle Haplisch. A serial killer haunts London. Maladie, a madman, may outdo the Ripper. Amalia and Penance find Myrtle bound to the bed by her parents. Myrtle’s parents fear Lucifer’s voice. She speaks Turkish and Chinese.
However, thugs arrive and try to kidnap Myrtle. The sisters use trinkets and wits to save Myrtle. The girls switch on a car and flee London after a chase. Amalia sees a bizarre vision of the opera, their first stop, as they rush along the cobblestones. Before that, they visit swearing Doctor Horatio. Anyway, Primrose is a giant among these girls. Amalia and Penance enhance security after the attack. Lavinia’s orphanage is where Touched can find like-minded people. Doctor Horatio heals Amalia within.
This thrilling introduction introduces Touched’s powers. However, government ministers worry. This oddity affects 100s of people. These Touched initially emerged in 1896, when Maladie committed her first murder. These stodgy old men want to maintain the status quo by finding out who’s holding the blade and who’s in charge. Detective Frank Mundi finds a bloody corpse in a mine. Behold my deeds for I am the Angel of Death.

Mundi sees the body moved and the blood on the wall. Pig blood. Someone organized this. Frank is furious and questions the man, wanting to know who and why. That night’s opera is ready. Doctor Horatio thinks this could be risky. Amalia and Penance follow his advice and ride in the carriage with Declan Orrun, the Beggar King. He’s upset at being summoned, but they tell him about the Touched and the episode’s chase. He thinks they lured the men to his doorstep. This is a negotiating chip, but Amalia offers to help him achieve what he wants.
Declan will help them find the Touched hunter in exchange. However, he threatens to take off their faces if they betray him. All our episode characters meet at the opera. Lord Massen, a snob, talks about the staff. However, Amalia True arrives and proves her worth. Hugo and Augustus, two young men—the latter Lavinia’s son—interrupt their conversation. Maladie interrupts the show and kills a devil-dressed man. She has company. Behind her are a gun-armed man and a flame-powered man. Maladie dances onstage, saying she’s killing an angel.
Gunshots and a controlled firestorm follow. Siren’s abilities interrupt this trio. She dazzles Maladie and the others with the Calling. Amalia chases Maladie and her stooges again. She rushes downstairs and battles our serial killer, demanding the girl. Mary is our Siren. Maladie is too much, and they flee after a fireball while Amalia curses her luck. Amalia blames herself. Penance greets her, encouraging her to keep going. They’ll return Mary. We notice the first instances of these extraordinary powers as we rewind. A bizarre UFO blasted through the skyline, raining shimmering dots on people. Lord Massen’s daughter collapses.
