Titans Season 4 Episode 7 Recap

Titans Season 4 Episode 7: Conner’s magical knife wound has become infected, and his attitude continues to be affected, as Rachel and Sebastian commiserate in the S.T.A.R. Labs safe house over their unusual connection as siblings. When a massive snake breaks into the safe home and nearly kills Tim Drake and Bernard Dowd, Jinx correctly identifies it as a magical serpent under Mother Mayhem’s command. The Titans scatter to look for the snake in the laboratory, leaving Conner to protect Rachel and Sebastian from the evil cult.

Conner’s possessed state leads him to try to take Sebastian out of S.T.A.R. Labs, but when Dick Grayson and Kory Anders catch on to the ruse, Jinx uses Superboy’s magical weakness to control Conner. Jinx is doubtful if she can remove the cursed snake from Conner’s body, so the Titans lock him up in S.T.A.R. Labs while they try to find a method to restore him to normal. To get Sebastian away from Conner, Kory takes him and Rachel out on the road. From across the galaxy, her Tamaran mentor sends her another message reiterating the certainty of her royal destiny.

Since Gar believes he can assume the form of any form of DNA with enough concentration, he resolves to unleash his animalistic talents to the fullest by transforming into a virus in order to penetrate Conner’s body and eliminate the magical curse from within. This risky plan pays off when the snake emerges from Conner’s body and is killed by Tim before it can harm Bernard. Tim and Bernard finally express their desire for each other in a secret time shortly after the event, and the two share a brief love rendezvous amidst the mayhem caused by their superpowers.

Kory is shown a future in which she and Dick have a child and live happily ever after among the Titans, but then tragedy strikes, and she is reminded of her terrible fate by her trainer. The trainer tries to tell Kory that if he lets Sebastian live, Sebastian would become the demonic enemy predicted in the vision, but Kory is unconvinced. Mayhem, having already sacrificed a comrade in order to gain a firmer grasp on her powers, suddenly emerges at the diner where the heroes are hidden, easily vanquishing Kory in a brief skirmish, and snatching Sebastian.

After much work, Gar transforms back into a human being as Conner recovers from his otherworldly encounter, much to the delight and comfort of his colleagues. Mayhem brings Sebastian back to the cult’s lair, where the members celebrate his arrival and declare him to be the long-awaited leader. In a place where he thinks he belongs, at last, Sebastian cannot help but smile as he meets his devoted supporters, hinting at his sinister destiny as Titans Season 4 nears its halfway point.
