The actor Treat Williams, who was well-known for his work in the television series Chicago Fire and the films Hair and Prince of the City, died on Monday in a motorbike accident in Vermont, according to his agent. Age-wise, he was 71.
“He was killed this afternoon. He was making a left or a right [and] a car cut him off,” the agent, Barry McPherson, told the magazine. “I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.”
“He was an actor’s actor,” McPherson added. “Filmmakers loved him. He’s been the heart of the Hollywood since the late 1970s.”
According to a statement from the Vermont State Police, the collision occurred in Dorset just before 5 p.m. when a 2008 Honda Element made a left turn directly into Williams’ path. Williams was unable to avoid the collision and was thrown from his motorcycle.
The car was trying to make a turn into a parking lot. Williams was transported by plane to Albany Medical Center, where doctors declared him dead.

Trent Williams Cause Of Death
A man has been charged almost two months after actor Trent Williams died in a crash in Vermont while riding his motorbike. The cause of death has been found. According to the Vermont State Police, the Medical Examiner’s Office in New York determined that Williams passed away on June 12 from “severe trauma and blood loss as a result of the crash.” He was 71.

Tuesday also saw the conclusion of the investigation into the Dorset accident revealed by attorney Erica Marthage of the Bennington County State’s Attorney’s Office. The Williams’ motorcycle was struck by a Honda SUV driven by Ryan Koss, who was cited for “grossly negligent operation with death resulting.”
According to a statement, Koss, 35, was called by the Vermont State Police on Tuesday night. At the Shaftsbury Barracks, he “voluntarily met with troopers, where he was processed on the charge and released.” On September 25, he must show up for his arraignment in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Bennington.
Williams’ family had posted a picture from a ‘Celebration of Life’ celebration in his honor the day before. The actor for Hair posted the photo to Instagram with the remark, “Life is delicate, yet the sadness doesn’t become any easier with time. We are attempting to cherish the time we have left on this lovely planet, which we are fortunate to call home and live each day as if it were our last.

Williams was taken to an Albany, New York, hospital following the June accident, where he eventually passed away. His family acknowledged his passing, stating they were “shocked and greatly bereaved” by the incident.
“Treat was full of love for his family, for his life and for his craft, and was truly at the top of his game in all of it,” they said. “It is all so shocking right now, but please know that Treat was dearly and deeply loved and respected by his family and everyone who knew him.”
Williams was also well-known for his parts in the television series Everwood and for his considerable theater career, which included a role as Danny Zuko in the first Broadway production of Grease.
