The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office initially claimed that the vehicle that had crashed on the interstate was a bus; however, they later clarified in a news release issued on Wednesday afternoon that the vehicle in question was a “large passenger transport van” with six passengers inside.

The sheriff’s office reported that the incident resulted in the deaths of two people: a woman from Texas, age 22, and a woman from Mississippi, age 57. The crash also resulted in the hospitalisation of four additional people.
According to the sheriff’s office, the van got completely engulfed in flames, and many Good Samaritans assisted four passengers in evacuating the wreckage before emergency crews arrived on the scene. The bodies of the two people who had perished in the fire were not found until after the flames had been extinguished.
According to the sheriff’s office, there were no other vehicles involved in the collision, and it has not been determined what caused it.
According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, the van was associated with a Minnesota corporation that was sending employees to Racine County, Wisconsin, for a business endeavour.
According to the Department of Transportation, the system ramp became accessible to vehicle traffic just before one in the afternoon.
