Leesburg, FL —
LEESBURG — Lake deputies and Leesburg police worked together early Thursday to apprehend two suspected burglars of an occupied home, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.
A resident on Sleepy Hollow Road called deputies about 10 a.m. and said she noticed two men wearing hoodies fleeing her property, sheriff’s Lt. John Herrell said.
Law enforcement “established a perimeter” and the sheriff’s canine team and helicopter — called Eagle 1 — were sent in, Herrell said.
The two were found near Laurel Oaks Apartments about a mile down the road, he said.
Keson Donaldson, 18, of Eustis, and a 16-year-old boy from Leesburg were charged with burglary to an occupied dwelling.
Herrell said both confessed to the crime.
