Even though several officers were present for a “different investigation,” Fairfax County Police have confirmed that no bullets were fired Sunday at Tysons Corner Center.
Officials did not provide any additional information regarding the location of the incident. Still, police have subsequently confirmed that Tysons Urban Team officers discovered three individuals connected to an Arlington heist.
As of Sunday night, two individuals had been apprehended, a weapon had been found, and one suspect was still at large, according to the police, who also said there was no ongoing threat to the mall or the neighborhood.
The shooting panic follows social media posts from Sunday night that claimed bullets might have been fired during the holiday shopping rush, on the first night of Hanukkah, and just one weekend before Christmas, as people were seen fleeing the mall.

This summer, the incident that sparked terror at the mall happened months before Sundays.
On Sunday, August 7, a report of shots fired at Tysons Corner Center mall was verified by Fairfax County police as a fallen light bulb. The mall was put on lockdown while police looked into the alleged incident.
Shots were fired during a group brawl a month earlier, on a Saturday afternoon in June, leading to the evacuation of the mall. Police, however, confirmed that nobody was hurt in the shooting. Three people who suffered minor injuries during the evacuation received medical attention.
A rapper and alleged gang leader from Washington, D.C., accused of repeatedly discharging a gun inside a busy Virginia mall over Father’s Day weekend, was denied bond in July.
