The Andalusian company Vialterra, specialized in civil works and building, has acquired a majority stake in the shareholding of Desarrollo de Tecnología de Depuración SA (DTD), thus betting on the diversification of its core activity.
With this operation, Vialterra incorporates an important portfolio of work in progress , as well as the management of a laboratory specialized in treatment, testing, analysis of water and sludge and pilot water treatment plants.
Likewise, by participating in DTD, Vialterra reinforces its position in a sector that it considers decisive for its future growth. According to the CEO of this company, Juan Manuel Bueno, “the integration of DTD brings clear synergies to our activity in the water sector, complementing our capabilities in this type of project, more focused on the public customer and on the mechanical and civil, with the experience in the industrial private client and in the chemical process of the treatment of the water of the DTD team “.
DTD’s activity has focused, for 23 years, on the design and construction of water treatment facilities, especially wastewater treatment plants. At present it is one of the most important companies in the sector in Andalusia, it works for the public and private sectors and in addition to building newly installed plants, it participates in expansion projects, reforms and process reengineering.
With Vialterra as a shareholder, DTD will strengthen its financial capacity and will be able to undertake larger projects, thus consolidating its growth.
They study new acquisitions
The diversification of activities is part of Vialterra’s strategic plan, and for this reason Juan Manuel Bueno assures that they will continue to analyze possible acquisitions in sectors such as energy, water and the environment. “We do not rule out any other operation this year,” advances the CEO of Vialterra.
This commitment to expanding the business based on acquisitions (inorganic growth) complements the organic growth experienced since the firm was founded in 2000.
Vialterra is already the third Andalusian construction company by business volume with 121 million euros in 2020, but the one that grew the most in the entire national territory, 46.1% last year.
The company is headquartered in Jaén and has branches in Almería, Granada, Seville, Valencia and Madrid. It is currently developing a very varied portfolio of works, ranging from residential construction, with more than 3,400 homes under construction, to the construction of educational centers, student and senior residences, hotels, sports and industrial facilities.
