A 25-year-old mother was found shot to death in her car in front of a factory in Waukegan on Monday night. The coroner has now found out who she was.
Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek said that Shiyanna Hayes, who was 25 and from Waukegan, died from multiple gunshot wounds. This was shown by an autopsy.
Around 7:37 p.m. on Monday, the Waukegan Fire Department and Waukegan Police Department went to the 1900 block of South Waukegan Road in Waukegan.
Waukegan’s Deputy Police Chief Joe Florip said that officers got a call about a person who was lying down in a car.
When the police showed up, Hayes had already been shot.

Hayes was found in a car in the northbound lanes of Waukegan Road, off the shoulder. This is what Florip said.
Officers gave the woman CPR until paramedics arrived and it was clear that Hayes was dead.
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Waukegan Police Department was asked to look into it.
Detectives are just starting their investigation, but they think Hayes was the target.
On Tuesday, the woman was given an autopsy by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
Florip said Tuesday that no one has been caught yet for the shooting.
Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the area on Monday at 7:37 p.m. and knows something about what happened.
