Here we are talking about Wauwatosa Car Accident Today. A collision involving 10 vehicles, including a pothole repair truck from the Milwaukee Department of Public Works, resulted in the deaths of three persons on Tuesday afternoon.
Just after noon, a relatively minor crash involving the DPW truck occurred near Watertown Plank and Mayfair roads, according to Wauwatosa Police Chief James MacGillis.
The DPW truck then drove further south on Mayfair Road and collided with a number of vehicles that were stuck in traffic at Wisconsin Avenue. Some of the cars took fire when they crashed, according to MacGillis.
“The DPW truck slammed into these automobiles as it sped passed us. People fanned out, most of whom had probably gone home by this point, but we stayed and did our best to assist.

Olivia LaBarbera, a witness, stated, “I ran over here and I let the paramedics know I’m a nurse over at Children’s, so luckily I was able to help a bit and get a couple of folks out of their cars.”
Two of the three other injured people were brought to the hospital. According to MacGillis, the truck’s speed has not yet been established. Police will look into any medical conditions the DPW employee may have had that could have contributed to her erratic driving.
