The Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere, Finland, is pleased to host Thomas Houseago’s first Nordic exhibition. Thomas Houseago is a well-known artist in the world. Houseago is exhibiting his paintings and sculptures in Tampere alongside works on porcelain by Nick Cave and Brad Pitt.
Although Cave and Pitt are already well-known in their music and film industries, this is the first time they have ever displayed the works of art they produced as part of an ongoing conversation with Houseago. The debut Nordic exhibition by Thomas Houseago is on display at Tampere, Finland’s Sara Hildén Art Museum.
Along with ceramic works by Nick Cave and Brad Pitt, Houseago is exhibiting his sculptures and paintings. The exhibition officially began on September 17, 2022. In these difficult times, the message of working together and depending on one another is quite potent, “says Tampere Mayor Anna-Kaisa Ikonen. Tampere’s autumn and winter art are vibrant in addition to the WE exhibition at Sara Hildén. Starting on October 8, the Tampere Art Museum will display rare works by Finnish art foundations.
Works by artists including Tyko Sallinen, Akseli Gallen-Kallela, Fanny Churberg, Helene Schjerfbeck, Ellen Thesleff, and Ellen Thesleff are featured in the exhibition. The other Tampere museums, like Vapriikki, provide family-friendly activities. Kids love the Moomin Museum in particular.
The Tampere Philharmonic performs well-known classics and brand-new music. International concerts will be held in the brand-new Nokia Arena. Tampere is Finland’s theatre hub, and the city’s theatres are home to many outstanding musicals, plays, comedies, and crime stories.
Tampere has direct flights to some European locations, including Amsterdam, Oslo, Malaga, Riga, and München. It is also conveniently accessible from Helsinki, the capital of Finland; the rail travel to Tampere takes roughly one and a half hours from Helsinki.
