Michael Halterman of 1000-Lb Sisters “filed for divorce of marriage with children against Amy… on March 13, according to Kentucky court documents,” reports In Touch. The couple had been married for nearly four years. Michael, who has been on the show frequently alongside Amy, is under the microscope in the fourth season of 1000-Lb Sisters.
The season has progressed and, given the couple’s portrayal, rumors of a breakup have persisted. Despite the two may have already begun living apart, the divorce proceedings have just begun, and will most likely be included in the second half of season 4 of 1000-Lb Sisters.
Michael File For Divorce From Amy
Michael’s behavior, as seen in Season 4 of 1000-Lb Sisters, has been in question for months before he ever filed for divorce on March 13. Amy and Michael have had a rough season as they try to raise their two children while also dealing with the Slaton family drama.
Amy made it obvious after the birth of their son Glenn in November 2022 that she found raising two sons to be much more challenging than raising one. Amy and Michael’s relationship had clearly deteriorated by the time season 4 of 1000-Lb Sisters debuted in January 2023.
Amy struggled to adapt to single parenting with the birth of Glenn in 2022 and the subsequent diagnosis of Michael with COVID-19. As Michael got better, it was obvious that he wasn’t really involved as a dad; he seldom helped out with the kids and was usually only seen watching from the sidelines, while Amy handled everything.
Since neither parent has shown any interest in or communication with the other during this transitional period, Michael’s decision to file for divorce is understandable. Season 4 of 1000 lb. Sisters haven’t even finished filming yet, and there will be a tonne of mysteries to solve when it finally airs.
Amy, who has been flaunting her slimmer figure in recent images, may have already relocated to a new residence away from her husband and their two sons. Since the details of Amy and Michael’s breakup are still trickling out, it’s safe to assume that there’s more to the story than meets the eye.
