Michael is given the chance to delve more into the network of criminal organizations that is still expanding in New Orleans, so it doesn’t seem like he will have time to wallow in his sadness. A woman approaches Michael and says, “I’m offering you a chance to atone for what you have done, to remove a whole criminal organization for good.”
Michael admits, “I can’t help you. With the woman asking him, “Have I given you the notion that any of this is optional?” it appears that Michael will have no choice in the matter. The criminal organization the two speak of is, of course, the one that revolves around the Baxters, and once again, the family demonstrates that they are not a force to be feared.
Michael explains to a companion, “The last time I saw someone in his way, Baxter shot him in the skull.” Additionally, Michael has every incentive to watch his back given Jimmy Baxter’s notoriety.
While the details of what transpires between Michael and the Baxters won’t be revealed until Season 2 begins, judging by the teaser, there will be plenty of action as foot races, fist fights, shootings, and torture take place. Jimmy says on the phone, “Tread very cautiously now. Michael needs to be on the lookout not just for Jimmy, but also for Jimmy’s wife Gina, who harbors a lot of resentment.
