HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Michigan (Michigan) – An accident involving a gravel truck took place on Thursday, October 20, close to Zeeland East High School, and left a teenage boy from Zeeland in severe condition. The victim, who was 17 years old at the time of the incident, was transported to a hospital in Grand Rapids by an Aero Med helicopter that landed in the parking lot of Zeeland’s football stadium.

According to the sheriff’s deputies in Ottawa County, he is in very serious condition.
The collision took place at approximately 12:45 on 96th Avenue and North Wind Drive, which is located north of Riley Street. According to the police, the adolescent was stopped on North Wind when he drove out in front of the gravel truck traveling in the northbound direction.
Firefighters had to free the teenager from his Subaru since he was trapped within it.
According to the police, the truck’s driver, a 57-year-old male from Zeeland, was also injured in the collision. Both of the drivers were wearing their seat belts. Near the campuses of Zeeland East and Zeeland West high schools, sheriff’s deputies and firefighters from Holland and Zeeland townships reacted to an emergency call and went to the site.
