Yet the news that the long-running French techno music combo Daft Punk is disbanding has dealt the industry yet another serious blow. After almost three decades together, the couple, who began making house and electronic music in the early 1990s, declared they were calling it quits, shocking fans. Why Did Daft Punk Break Up?
Daft Punk’s spokesperson Kathryn Frazier confirmed the end of the band when contacted by the music website Stereogum, although she declined to comment on why they broke up. Although they have been in the game for 28 years, the pair has not yet publicly stated why they have parted ways. After the release of “Random Access Memories,” the group’s most recent studio album, there has been no word of any new music.

Daft Punk Announced Its Split In A YouTube Video
The duo revealed their breakup in a video titled “Epilogue,” which was uploaded on their YouTube channel on February 22. The eight-minute clip, which is a segment from their movie Electroma, starts with the duo strolling calmly in the desert together.
When one of the group members stops moving and turns around to face him, his companion removes his “Daft Punk” bomber jacket, giving his friend the opportunity to activate what looks to be a self-destruct switch. He walks away from his pal and back in the direction he came while the timer counts down from 60, clicking the entire time.

He erupts when it reaches zero, signifying the breakup of the couple. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, two French artists, formed the group in 1993, and the two of them dominated the house and techno music genres for many years.
Their first successful songs, “Da Funk” and “Around the World,” were featured on their 1997 debut album, “Homework.” After the 2001 publication of “Discovery,” which included the timeless songs “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and “One More Time,” they gradually became a household brand.
The pair started donning their individual robot helmets about this time, adopting the fake robot identities for which they are best known. In “Get Lucky,” a collaboration between the Weeknd’s “Starboy” and Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, and Daft Punk, they maintained their fame throughout the 2010s. In his album “Yeezus,” Kanye West also worked with them.
