Al Brown Actor The Wire Dead At 83

Al Brown, who played a famous character on the hit TV show “The Wire,” died at 83. Brown became well-known for his role as police commander Stanislaus “Stan” Valchek in the hit HBO show about the drug trade in Baltimore.

The news of Brown’s death was shared on his YouTube channel and Facebook page. On Saturday night, his Facebook page was changed to “My name is Michael. I take care of Al’s Facebook page. I’m sorry to tell you this, but angels helped Al early on Friday, January 13, 2023.

“May his memory bless his family, friends, and all of you. This page will always show how much Al cared about his fans and work. Michael is thought to be Michael Mogan, Brown’s agent. CNN has asked Mogan what he feels about it.

After talking to Brown’s daughter Jenny, the entertainment news site TMZ also said he had died. She wrote on the website that her father had died on Friday in Las Vegas. He had been sick with Alzheimer’s disease.

She told TMZ that her father, who started acting in the 1990s, had been in the US Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam.

Brown was a guest star on many TV shows, like “Rescue Me,” “Commander in Chief,” “Forensic Files,” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” but he was best known for playing Valchek, a smart Polish-American police chief, in all five seasons of “The Wire.”
