Music Life of Alan Rankine
Rankine was a native of the Scottish town of Bridge of Allan and genuinely loved music and music-making. He played guitar and keyboards for The Associates. The Associates, a duo founded in 1979 and mostly comprised of Billy McKenzie and Rankine, gained notoriety in their native Scotland after covering David Bowie’s “Boys Keep Swinging,” according to Billboard.
