Anne Heche hit a house in Los Angeles’ Mar Vista neighbourhood in her blue Mini Cooper at around 11 a.m. PT on Friday, August 5. Heche was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her wounds after the fire, which took nearly 60 firemen to contain, completely destroyed her home.
It turned out that the fiery collision was her third car accident in 30 minutes. Now that the LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has declared Heche’s official cause of death and that she has been taken off life support, ET is looking back at the days and moments leading up to her awful accident and what we now know.
Disclosure Of The Official Anne Heche Cause of Death
On August 17, The LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office that Heche had died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries sustained in an automobile crash. Heche slams into a two-story house, starting a fire.
At 10:55 a.m., a vehicle smashed into a residence in the 1700 block of Walgrove Ave, a public information officer for the Los Angeles Police Department informed ET, though they refused to release any information about the driver, the vehicle, the hospital, or any injuries.
The LAPD reports that the car caught fire and the driver was taken by EMS to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Fire Department said that the single-occupant automobile had crashed into and come to rest deep inside a two-story, 738-square-foot residence, causing structural damage and a fire to break out before their arrival.
The Los Angeles Fire Department reports that it took 59 firemen 65 minutes to access, contain, and fully extinguish the persistent flames within the highly damaged structure and rescue an adult female who was found within the vehicle and then transferred to a local hospital in critical condition. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that nobody else was hurt.

CBS Los Angeles recorded video of the aftermath of Heche’s car collision into a house.TMZ reported at the time that Heche was intubated in the hospital but was considered to have a good chance of survival. It was yet unknown what caused the crash.

While she was in the hospital, he sent a statement to the Daily Mail in which he updated the public on her status. “While Anne and I are no longer an item, today’s tragic news was devastating to me and all who love her,” he stated.
Anne and her two sons have my deepest sympathies. Anne’s condition is currently stable, and she is anticipated to make a full recovery. Anne, one of the great geniuses of her generation, is in my prayers. Praise be to God, nobody else was wounded.
After Accident condition
The day after the accident, a representative for the actress told ET that the actress was in stable condition. The representative also said that Heche had received burns in the incident.

The representative went on to say that the family and friends of the woman requested prayers and privacy during this trying time. The representative also mentioned that the accident’s root cause was still being looked into.
Heche Passed Away At The Age Of 53
The actress’ heart is still beating, but she is legally considered brain-dead in California. The actress’ representative told ET on August 12 that life support was still being maintained “to give the OneLegacy Foundation time to find organ recipients who will be a match.”

“Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” the statement read. “Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
Heche’s 20-year-old son, Homer, also said in a statement to ET, “My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom. After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I am left with a deep, wordless sadness. Hopefully, my mom is free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom.”
“Over those six days, thousands of friends, family, and fans made their hearts known to me,” he added. “I am grateful for their love, as I am for the support of my Dad, Coley, and my stepmom Alexi, who continue to be my rock during this time. Rest In Peace Mom, I love you.”
