Batman Sequel Announced

In another unsurprising sequel news from this week’s film industry gathering CinemaCon, Warner Bros. has confirmed that it will make a sequel to The Batman. Robert Pattinson, who starred in the first film, and Matt Reeves, who directed it, will both return for the sequel. There was no word on when the film will be released.

For Warner Bros., the premiere of The Batman signified a return to theatrical distribution after more than a year of simultaneous releases on its streaming service, HBO Max, as highlighted by Variety and Deadline.

The film made around $760 million at the worldwide box during a relatively short 45-day theatrical window, before its HBO Max debut last week bringing in a bigger home audience than any of last year’s day-and-date films (which included Dune, Wonder Woman 1984, and The Matrix Resurrections) — proving that, when it comes to franchise entertainment at least, you can have your cake and eat it.

Batman Sequel Plot

Fourteen years later, Chill is paroled after testifying against mafia boss Carmine Falcone. Bruce intended to assassinate Chill to avenge his parents, but one of Falcone’s assassins does it first. Bruce’s childhood friend Rachel Dawes berates him for acting outside the court system, adding that his father would be repro humiliated.

Bruce spends the next seven years touring the world and training in battle after meeting Falcone, who teaches him that genuine power comes from being feared. Henri Ducard, a member of Ra’s al Ghul’s League of Shadows, recruits him to a Bhutanese prison.

After finishing his training in ninja ways and purging his phobias, Bruce discovers that the League knows about Gotham and, feeling the city is beyond saving, intends to destroy it. Bruce opposes the League and their proclamation that murder is required, burning down their temple during his departure. Ra is slain by falling rubble, while Bruce saves the unconscious Ducard.

Upon his return to the city, Bruce takes a stake in Wayne Enterprises, the family business, which William Earle plans to flog to the public. Company archivist and Bruce’s father’s friend Lucius Fox offers Bruce access to prototype defense systems, including a bodysuit and a massively armored vehicle known as a Tumbler.

Lucius Fox Bruce appears outwardly as a shallow playboy while establishing up a base in the caves beneath Wayne Manor and takes up the vigilante character of “Batman”, inspired by his childhood fear, which he has now conquered.

Because of the information, Batman gathered while intercepting a cocaine shipment, Sergeant James Gordon, one of the few honest cops in Gotham, is assigned the task of apprehending Falcone. In prison, Falcone meets Dr. Jonathan Crane, a dishonest psychologist whom he has helped smuggle drugs into Gotham.

Donning a scarecrow mask, Crane showers Falcone with a fear-inducing drug that drives him insane and has him sent to Arkham Asylum. Alfred saves Batman’s life by giving him an antidote to the hallucinogen Fox produced while the Dark Knight is investigating his misdeeds and gets doused with the hallucinogen and set on fire by Crane.

Batman Sequel Trailer

‘Something in the Way’ by Nirvana is playing in the background of the new Batman trailer. The two-and-a-half minutes of video give a horrific new take on Gotham City and the Dark Knight, an astounding effort considering that 25 percent of the movie has been shot so far, according to what director Matt Reeves announced during the DC FanDome digital event.

Conclusion

The Riddler’s (Paul Dano’s) wicked plan has been foiled by Batman by the end of “The Batman” (Robert Pattinson). While the Riddler managed to set off a series of bombs that allowed for a biblical torrent of floodwater to penetrate Gotham proper, his assassination attempt, conducted by a tiny army of Riddler-like trolls (online trolls not actual trolls), ultimately failed as well, thanks to Batman’s heroism. As the film progresses, he comes to terms with the fact that some of his actions and the way he conducts himself can inspire the wrong kind of person.
