Netflix has ordered a sixth season of its dystopian blockbuster series, Black Mirror, while you all wait for the frightening virtual reality headgear from “Playtest” to enter the market. Charlie Brooker, the show’s creator, will reportedly work on additional episodes, according to Variety. Since the premiere of Black Mirror’s fifth season on June 5, 2019, also known as several lifetimes ago, this is the only big bit of news we’ve seen.
Variety quotes a person close to the production as saying, “The latest season is even more cinematic in scope, with each chapter being treated as an entire film.” We’re all in for more nightmares, it appears. If Netflix releases Season Six of Black Mirror, it will follow in the footsteps of last season’s three-episode run, which featured Miley Cyrus in “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too.”

Black Mirror Season 6 Storyline
An anthology episode based in a museum dedicated to Black Mirror is an appropriate finale for season 4. This episode serves as a microcosm of the entire season, bringing together a number of stories about the hazards of technology into one cohesive whole. The only other way S4 could have ended is this way. That said, it’s also a particularly tense episode that ratchets the tension up nearly unbearably.
It’s about Nish, a young woman who goes to a deserted science museum to charge her electric automobile. Her tour guide, Rolo Haynes, takes her through some of the displays and tells her stories about the animals as they go. There’s more to it than just a collection of digital ghost stories, as is readily apparent from the above description. It’s a disjointed hour of television that tries to squeeze as much horror as possible into the time allotted to it in order to keep viewers entertained until the payoff.
Danny and Theo are old buddies in “Striking Vipers.” The latter shows off a virtual reality version of the video game they used to play together. As they play the game’s polygons, the two guys will learn new facts about each other and their long-standing relationship.
Rideshare driver Scott kidnaps an intern from social media conglomerate Smithereen in “Smithereens.” He then engages the police in a tense confrontation while attempting to call the CEO of the company to discuss his own troubling past with the app.
Ashley O. is the star of “Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too,” starring Miley Cyrus. Coma results from an attempt to defy her superiors. Ashley Too, a robotic doll created with the singer’s consciousness, can feel it. Rachel and her elder sister Jack, the toy’s owners, are now tasked with helping Ashley Too locate the original and save its life.

Black Mirror Season 6 Trailer: Has Netflix Released A Trailer?
Since Season 6 of Black Mirror hasn’t been confirmed yet, Netflix hasn’t produced a trailer yet, but for now, you can watch the trailer for one of the episodes from Season 5 to remind us how wonderful this show is.
Conclusion
Most fans will see plenty of nods to the show’s past and its creators throughout the episode, and Brooker himself is part of the Game of Thrones-style wall of faces that Nish peers during her tour. However, it sometimes feels like Black Museum is nodding and winking so fiercely, that it forgets to accomplish anything particularly intriguing with the primary duo of characters.
Black Mirror Season 6 Is In The Works At Netflix
Black Mirror has had a quiet few years. From its early series on Channel 4 to its bigger-budget, star-studded seasons on Netflix, Charlie Brooker, and Annabel Jones’ dystopian anthology series was one of the defining dramas of 2010.
However, the show’s final episodes aired nearly three years ago, signaling a significant break for a show that swiftly become a cultural touchstone. (To be honest, the last several years have been a little bit Black Mirror.) However, it appears like the show is finally set to return, as Variety reports that Netflix is working on the sixth season.
While Netflix has yet to confirm, Variety says that a new batch of episodes is in the works, each with movie-quality production qualities. The delay in the return of Black Mirror appears to be due to rights concerns (Brooker and Jones quit their former production company, which still has the Black Mirror format and episodes rights, and created a new one), which have now been ironed out, allowing the show’s long-awaited comeback.
The concern is, given recent real-life horror shows, how will Brooker and Jones handle a world that has been increasingly dystopic for some time? Which celebs will be lined up to appear this time, following Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, and Andrew Scott appearing in the previous run? Perhaps we’ll get a series of episodes that are a little more upbeat – sign us up for a whole lot of San Juniperos, please.
