Clark referred to Brown, a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and member of Cadet Squadron 16, as “an outstanding offensive lineman on the Falcon football team” in 2022. This season, Air Force went 10-3 and won the Armed Forces Bowl, beating Baylor 30-15. “Having Hunter as a part of the Academy family has been nothing short of a blessing. One of the most enjoyable aspects of coaching and playing with him was his positive attitude “The football team’s head coach, Troy Calhoun, made the announcement on Tuesday.
Following up, Calhoun said “Hunter was strong, a hard worker, and the most selfless person on the team. Candyce and Dustin have raised a great son who has improved the lives of everyone he has met. Our hearts and prayers are with Hunter’s magnificent soul and his family, and we love him dearly as our great brother.”
In college, Brown studied management with a minor in French at the Air Force Academy. In Louisiana, he went to Barbe High School. The school’s Twitter tweeted, “We are heartbroken by the passing of one of our favorite sons.” “When Hunter Brown was on the field, he was unstoppable. Please pray for his many friends and family members alongside the Buc family.”
Brown’s passing comes just one week after the cardiac arrest of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who collapsed during the Bills’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on “Monday Night Football” on January 2. Since then, Hamlin has shown great improvement, but in his first public comments, he acknowledged that he still faces a “hard road” to recovery.
