Brown had been missing since January 31, 2015, when her husband, Nick Gordon, and a friend discovered her face down in a bathtub in the bathroom of their house in Roswell, Georgia. According to TMZ, before the cops and paramedics arrived, Gordon and the companion dialed 911 and began performing CPR on Brown.
Brown was rushed to the hospital by paramedics, where physicians worked to restore her breathing and eventually admitted her to the intensive care unit. Doctors in the intensive care unit found that Brown’s brain function had “significantly diminished” owing to swelling in her brain, so they induced a coma and put her on a ventilator.
“Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family,” the Brown family announced in a statement. “As her father has already said, we ask that people respect our need for privacy at this time. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers and your unwavering support.
In February 2015, Brown was transferred to Emory University Hospital where she remained in a coma and on a ventilator. Later that month, Brown was awakened briefly from her coma, only to have violent seizures and be re-medicated back into a coma.

Brown was transferred to a rehabilitation hospital in Atlanta, Georgia later that month, where she remained in a coma for the rest of her time there. In June 2015, after her organs began failing and physicians advised her family that she could die at any time, she was transferred to hospice care and taken off all medications.
“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate,” her aunt Pat Houston said at the time. “Hospice care has been initiated as of today. We appreciate the love and prayers from everyone. Now, she is in God’s care.
What Was Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Cause Of Death?
Brown drowned and overdosed, according to the autopsy report released by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. In addition to weed, alcohol, and “a cocaine-related substance,” the toxicology report for Brown also revealed the presence of sedatives, anti-anxiety drugs, and morphine.
“The underlying cause of death is the condition which starts the downhill course of events leading to death and in this case is the immersion associated with drug intoxication,” the medical examiner’s office said in a statement at the time. According to the author, “pneumonia and encephalopathy are more immediate causes which resulted from the immersion and drug intoxication.”
