He’s got style, and we love him like a superfan because of it.”

James Goldstein Biography
Goldstein, who was born to Nanette (née Gamse) and C. Ellis Goldstein, who had a department shop in Milwaukee, claims he first started watching NBA games when he was 10 years old. He was hired by the Milwaukee Hawks when he was just 15 years old to keep score. “Once I did that and sat courtside for the games, I was totally hooked,” he said.
“Since then, I’ve given my undivided attention to professional basketball. That’s how much enthusiasm I have for the sport. In basketball, more athleticism seems to be on display than in any other sport.” Goldstein attended and graduated from Nicolet High School (where he played basketball) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Soon after, he enrolled at Stanford University and never left the Golden State.
Goldstein became friends with various NBA players, including Wilt Chamberlain, Clyde Drexler, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O’Neal, Sam Cassell, and Dennis Rodman, thanks to his attendance at more than 2,000 games. While he does hold season tickets to both the Lakers and the Clippers, he insists that he does not root for either club. He considers himself a basketball lover in general, particularly the National Basketball Association.
Goldstein is unwilling to discuss his wealth or his means of accumulation. Goldstein’s real estate deals are rumored to have netted him billions, according to the Wall Street Journal (notably Century City in Los Angeles). According to a 2020 article in The Hollywood Reporter, Goldstein made his fortune in mobile home parks by “packing groupings of properties into investment vehicles and then suing governments… if they obstruct his attempts to abolish rent regulation.”
Sunny Soltani, the city attorney of Carson, California, called his actions “litigation terrorism,” said he made his money “on the backs of the most vulnerable individuals in society,” and said it cost towns millions to defend themselves against him. Neither he nor his parents ever married, and he is currently a childless bachelor. He’s on the record as saying he has no faith in marriage.
James Goldstein’s Net Worth
American real estate mogul and avid NBA fan Jimmy Goldstein are worth an estimated $350 million. Jimmy Goldstein amassed a fortune through the sale of mobile home sites in California. He gained notoriety for his outlandish fashion sense by often attending NBA games. The Sheats-Goldstein House in Los Angeles, which he owns, has been featured in a wide variety of media. As a result of “The Big Lebowski,” the mansion has gained widespread notoriety.
James Goldstein’s Career
Soon after receiving his diploma from UCLA in 1964, Jimmy found work at an organization known as Rammco Investment Corporation. In the late 1960s, Rammco made a fortune by purchasing inexpensive farmland on the outskirts of Los Angeles and then converting it into neighborhoods. It was Jimmy’s responsibility to locate potential acquisitions in the Riverside and San Bernardino areas.
NBA Games
Goldstein has become well-known for his extravagant fashion choices and his habit of sitting courtside at NBA games. He often takes in well over a hundred games a year, both in his home state of California and outside the United States. He frequently attends games as a spectator, when he is spotted in a variety of crazy clothes. It has been said that Jimmy spends over $500,000 annually on sports tickets and related expenses. He has floor seats for every Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers game this season.
Residence of Sheats and Goldstein
The fact that Jimmy owns a mansion in the Hollywood Hills has also helped to elevate his celebrity status. Known as the “Sheats Goldstein Residence,” the building was designed by the illustrious American architect John Lautner. In 1963, it was built to be used as a hotel. Jimmy purchased the house in 1972 for the sum of $185,000. That is the same as a million dollars in today’s money.
Goldstein reached out to Lautner to enlist his help restoring the home to its former glory after the neglectful upkeep of the previous owners. He spent his entire working life collecting land in the vicinity of Beverly Hills until he had gathered four acres suitable for a private jungle.
Numerous films and TV series have included the mansion in minor roles, including The Big Lebowski and Charlie’s Angels. Overlooking the Los Angeles skyline and located on a neighboring lot is the “infinity tennis court” featured by this property. A fully functional nightclub called “Club James” may be found just below the tennis court.
It’s common knowledge that many celebrities have visited the club. Rihanna’s 27th birthday party was held there, and many renowned people, such as Mick Jagger and Leonardo DiCaprio, were in attendance. If the property was ever put up for sale, which is highly doubtful, it would likely fetch more than $100,000,000.
We regret to inform you that Jimmy has already decided to leave the house for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) when he passes away, so your intentions to buy it in the future will have to be scrapped. In any case, you will get to take a tour at some point!
