Jaden fought cancer bravely for what seemed like an eternity, but he passed away, and now his loved ones must deal with their grief. But he leaves a piece of himself with the individuals he inspired with his exceptional skills. At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, he was a bit undersized to play inside linebacker for the football team.
Yet, his competitive drive helped the club win games. Because of his small stature, he had to make up for it with quickness, hard work at the gym, and careful strategy. Although he wasn’t a defensive starter on the team that went on to win the state championship, his tackling ability and presence on every special team’s unit were well-known.
Swick, who took over as head coach of the Collins Hill program following the 2022 Campaign, has announced that the team will be wearing a No. 8 patch in honor of Faison this season. Swick also stated that the No. 8 jersey would be made special and awarded annually to a deserving defensive player.
