Rabbi Sandford Kopnick, a respected religious figure and a close friend of Springer’s from The Valley Temple in Cincinnati, said the “sickness was abrupt,” adding, “He hasn’t been sick in a long time. He had cancer for a short while before dying from it.
Kopnick, who claimed to have only recently paid a visit to Springer, described his friend as “a kind and generous person who was not best pictured on his television show.” He continued, “There was much more to him than The Jerry Springer Show.
